Dort hatte sich aus unbekannter Ursache Papier auf dem Au\u00dfengel\u00e4nde entz\u00fcndet. Laut Werksleitung handelte es sich um etwa zweihundert Kubikmeter, die erst am Montagvormittag dort abgeladen wurden. Durch den Einsatz von zwei auf einer Halle befindlichen Dachwerfern des Betriebs, dem Wasserwerfer des Tankl\u00f6schfahrzeug (TLF) aus Hoya und mehreren Strahlrohren der Freiwilligen Feuerwehren und der Werksfeuerwehr konnte der Brand unter der Einsatzleitung von Hoyas Ortsbrandmeister Wilfried G\u00fctz schnell unter Kontrolle gebracht werden. Im Anschluss wurde der Papierhaufen mit einem Radlader und einem Bagger auseinandergezogen und gr\u00fcndlich ebenfalls mit Strahlrohren und dem Wasserwerfer des TLF abgel\u00f6scht, um eventuelle Glutnester in dem leicht brennbaren Material auszuschlie\u00dfen. Die Polizei sch\u00e4tzte den Schaden vor Ort auf etwa f\u00fcnf- bis sechstausend Euro.
