Auf einer Fl\u00e4che von etwa 40 x 40 Metern brannte das Unterholz in dem Waldgebiet, circa zweihundert Meter oberhalb des Gel\u00e4ndes der Hoyaer Holzhandlung. Aufmerksame Passanten hatten den Brand bemerkt und umgehend die Leitstelle Diepholz informiert. Diese alarmierte um 22:50 Uhr wegen der vorherrschenden Trockenheit sofort neben den Ortswehren Bruchhausen-Vilsen und Uenzen auch die Wehren aus Asendorf und Engeln. Um 23.03 Uhr wurden dann die Feuerwehren Hoya und B\u00fccken aus der Samtgemeinde Hoya hinzu gerufen. \u201eDen \u00fcber hundert Einsatzkr\u00e4ften mit siebzehn Fahrzeugen gelang es unter massiven Einsatz ein weiteres Ausbreiten zu verhindern\u201c, teilte Bruchhausen-Vilsens Samtgemeindepressewart Cord Brinker mit. Die Polizeistation Syke nahm noch w\u00e4hrend des Einsatzes erste Ermittlungen auf.
